Jade’s 4th of July Burgers

Hey guys as part of the Jade Farrar Show 4th of July video below is the recipe for the sliders I made:

12 pack of slider buns
500 grams of quality beef mince
2 large eggs
half a red onion
2 Tablespoons of Barkers sundried tomato and olive chutney or any savoury preserve you like
2 teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons of pepper
3 or 4 pickled gherkins
1 half iceberg lettuce head (shredded)
tomatoes sliced as needed

  1. combine mince and eggs in a bowl
  2. grate the red onion into the beef mixture
  3. add salt and pepper
  4. mix in the chutney
  5. roll beef mix into small balls using the buns as a guide
  6. place the mince balls into the fridge for 3 hours to allow them to firm up
  7. before assembling the burgers cut the slider buns in half and lightly toast in the oven
  8. oil a frying pan and set the hob to a medium to high heat
  9. place a maximum of 3 meat balls in the pan allowing plenty of room between each
  10. press down on each meat ball with a spatula to form  the pattie
  11. after 2 minutes flip over and place a slice of cheese on top if desired if the cheese doesn’t melt place under the grill for a minute or two.
  12. always place shredded lettuce on the bottom bun to protect the bun from the greasy pattie 
  13. assemble everything else to taste I like gherkins tomatoes and some kind of mayo based sauce
